Use fresh, pitted cherries when in season, or high-quality jarred or frozen (thawed and well-drained).
-
Fold in chocolate chips gently to keep the batter soft and airy.
-
Don’t overbake — remove from the oven when the center is just set for maximum chewiness.
-
Serve slightly warm for gooey chocolate pockets, or let them cool fully for clean slicing.
-
Enjoy as-is, or top with a scoop of vanilla or cherry ice cream for a plated dessert.
-
Excellent served with coffee, tea, or a glass of milk.
