Prep – 10 minutes
Bake – 15 minutes

10-12 pastry twists
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- ⅓ cup (100g) Nutella or chocolate hazelnut spread
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Optional: powdered sugar or chopped hazelnuts for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Roll out puff pastry slightly on a floured surface. Spread Nutella evenly over half the sheet.
- Fold the pastry in half, press lightly. Slice into 10–12 strips. Twist each strip gently and place on the sheet.
- Brush with beaten egg. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar or hazelnuts.
Tips & Tricks
- Use cold puff pastry to make twisting easier and keep the layers flaky.
- Don’t overload with Nutella — a thin, even layer works best to avoid leaking.
- Use an egg wash for that golden finish (optional but highly recommended).
- For extra crunch, sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts or coarse sugar before baking.
- Leftovers? Reheat in the oven for 3–4 minutes to revive the crispiness.
- Serve warm for maximum flakiness and gooey Nutella texture.
- Pair with coffee, hot chocolate, or even a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Try it as a sweet brunch addition alongside fruit, yogurt, or croissants.
