Tips & Tricks
- Use good-quality unsweetened cocoa powder for the best chocolate flavor.
- Don’t overbake — the cake should be soft and tender with a light crumb.
- If serving to a large group, bake it in a rimmed sheet pan and cut into smaller servings.
- For variation, try adding a pinch of cinnamon or espresso powder to deepen the chocolate.
-
Serve slightly warm or at room temperature — the frosting sets into a soft glaze as it cools.
-
Cut into squares or rectangles and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
-
Great for birthdays, casual gatherings, or school bake sales — it travels well and slices clean.
